About Me.

Welcome to Paws and Praise Training! We're dedicated to supporting families as they welcome their new furry friends into their homes. With a compassionate and multi-faceted training approach, we aim to create a comfortable environment where you and your dog can thrive on learning together. 

 

Claire Miller, Owner and Trainer, hopes to establish a supportive relationship where dog owners can comfortably engage in training sessions and receive guidance in areas where they need more help. By taking a compassionate approach, we ensure that owners receive constructive feedback, encouragement, and empathy. When we begin training together, we become a team. We work through challenges side by side and celebrate every victory together! Using positive techniques helps to build motivation, foster good behaviour, and enhance the bond between owners and their dogs.

Claire’s interest in puppy training, loose lead walking and recall training stemmed from two of her own dogs: Max, a 13-year-old English Springer Spaniel and Mabel, a 1 year old Labrador Retriever. Max has struggled with separation anxiety and pulling on the lead.  Mabel was where Claire developed and built on her most recent training techniques, and Claire has worked with Mabel to teach her to follow commands, walk loose on the lead, and recall to her name. Claire has two small children, so she has experience introducing a new puppy into your family and supporting children in becoming acclimatised to a dog in their environment.
